6 Islands, and so much exploring. The ultimate playground for mamas and their families.
Hawaii
It’s still the quintessential family vacation. I can’t help it. It’s a 6 hour flight, it’s beautiful, easy to get around, amazing food, beaches that make you appreciate beaches, whales, good snorkeling, hikes, and it’s SO EASY with kids. Yes there are other places where your money will go further, and are equally beautiful. But when you throw in the ease part, it’s hard to beat.
Hawaii is somewhere we keep going back to again and again. We've been to three out of the six islands (Oahu, Maui and Kauai) and have enjoyed them all for different reasons. With the ages of our kids currently (7 and 3), Maui is the best fit for us right now. Even though it is in the states, it feels like it's a different world. The most important item on your agenda? Watch an amazing sunset and play in the waves. I also like that, at least on land, there's nothing too venomous to worry about (though I've heard their local centipede packs quite a bite).
We just came back from Maui. We have stayed on both the south side and the west side of the island. I personally prefer the south but I have to be honest here, it’s probably easier to stay on the west side with kids.
